Ghosts 'n Goblins meets Showa retro hotel
Creator Comment: Retro Style + Ghosts 'n Goblins
I came up with the idea of a hotel where the monsters
of the Ghosts 'n Goblins world would stay.
I thought,
"What would the hotel look like and how would it operate if a Firebrand owned it?"
That's where the hotel logo came from.
A lot went into the hotel logo's design, but I wanted to capture the '80s feel
of the original Ghosts 'n Goblins game, so I added elements from that decade,
and ended up with a Firebrand sitting cross-legged at the window, waiting for guests to arrive.
I also took care when designing the building itself,
making sure it didn't betray the world of Ghosts 'n Goblins.
I went for something not too cute and not too cool...
something that felt nostalgic.
I hope everyone enjoys this piece whether you've played Ghosts 'n Goblins or not.

Ghosts 'n Goblins is the first Capcom game I saw, played,
and was scared by, so I've got a lot of thoughts and feelings about it.
I was both shocked and happy to see a creator from a generation
that never experienced the game at its release choose Ghosts 'n Goblins as a theme.
In the early stages, the idea was a Firebrand room key for a hotel,
but I told the designer to imagine not just a key but an entire hotel.
I'm delighted that there are so many cute and stylish Ghosts 'n Goblins products
available in this day and age, and this piece is my favorite of them all.
